ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Just two days after losing their head coach to the Los Angeles Chargers, University of Michigan promoted its offensive coordinator to replace coach Jim Harbaugh, making 37-year-old Sherrone Moore the first Black coach to lead the most dominant college football program in history.
Harbaugh left University of Michigan for a five-year deal, giving him another chance to pursue the Super Bowl title.
Moore is a first time head coach. His contract with U of M is for five years with a starting annual salary of $5.5 million, guaranteed annual raises and several bonuses, The Associated Press reported.
