Jackson will be the keynote speaker for the event, which will be held at 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham on Sept. 15.

Jackson is the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.

The four girls were killed on Sept. 15, 1963 when a bomb went off while the girls were together in a downstairs bathroom. The bombing also wounded at least 14 people and left one girl critically injured.

Multiple events are planned throughout Alabama to mark the 60th anniversary.
