LOS ANGELES — Federal authorities charged a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy with a civil rights violation related to a violent arrest last year that was caught on video and sparked national outrage.
Deputy Trevor James Kirk, 31, was indicted on one count of deprivation of rights under color of law in connection with the incident that happened on outside of a Winco grocery store on June 24, 2023.
