CHICAGO — The man seen in a viral video that shows a Chicago police officer holding a gun to his head filed a lawsuit against the city and the Chicago Police Department on Thursday.

Lorenzo Williams, 32, was arrested by police on Tuesday in Near North Side Chicago.

In the video, Williams, who is Black, is seen on the ground with multiple officers near him. One officer is seen holding Williams by the braids of his hair while another officer appears to strike him in the head with an object, and saying “I’m going to shoot you.” The officer, who is white, then pulls out a firearm and holds it to Williams’ head before the 30-second video ends.

The CPD and the Civilian Office of Police Accountability are investigating the incident.
