Following his unsuccessful bid for Kentucky governor last November, outgoing Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, once believed to be a rising political star in the GOP, has announced his next job will be to lead a conservative non-profit group fighting against “woke capitalism.”
In a news release, Cameron said he accepted the job as CEO of 1792 Exchange.
Cameron, who was endorsed by former president Donald Trump, lost his attempt to become the next governor of Kentucky, losing to Democrat Gov. Andy Beshear who was seeking a second term. Cameron made history as Kentucky’s first Black attorney general and the state’s first major-party Black nominee for governor.
Cameron’s term as Attorney General officially ended on Jan. 1.
