NEW YORK CITY — Mayor Eric Adams confirmed he and his campaign received more subpoenas from federal investigators related to an ongoing corruption investigation.

The latest series of grand jury subpoenas were issued last month requesting documents and communications from Adams, his campaign, and City Hall, The New York Times reported.

Adams, who is a former NYPD captain, has repeatedly stated he did nothing wrong and is complying with the investigation.

The federal investigation centers around whether a New York-based construction company and a group of Turkish nationals may have improperly donated to the Mayor Adam’s 2021 mayoral campaign.

During a news conference Friday afternoon, Adams responded to questions about the investigation:

“Listen, it takes a great deal of discipline to defend yourself when you know you have done nothing wrong, but I trust my team. I have an offensive line that’s going to allow me to move the ball down the field and to fight on behalf of New Yorkers on some of these real issues that we’re facing in the city. I have a great deal of trust in my team and I am going to go by the rules, comply and be as transparent as possible and follow the rules, and that’s what we’re doing.”

In November, Adams cut a planned trip to the White House short after FBI agents seized electronic devices from his campaign manager. Days later, Adams phones were also seized at an event.

Many details remain unclear, including who the target of the federal investigation is, how long it may continue is and the scope of the probe.
