A former police officer in Louisville, Kentucky pleaded guilty today to a federal conspiracy charge in connection with the killing of Breonna Taylor

Kelly Goodlett pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy in a federal court in Louisville. She is the first former officer who has been held criminally responsible for the raid.

Federal investigators alleged Goodlett helped write the warrant that led up to Taylor’s death in March 2020. They said Goodlett added false information to the warrant and later conspired with another detective with Louisville Police Department to come up with a story to cover up after Taylor’s death started garnering national attention.
