PHILADELPHIA — Authorities are searching for a teen prisoner, charged with murder, who escaped custody on Wednesday.

According to police, 17-year-old Shane Pryor escaped police custody at the emergency room parking lot of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia around noon Wednesday where a vehicle picked the teen up.

Pryor was charged with murder in 2020, when he was 14 years old. He has been in custody since then, awaiting trial.

On Thursday, Pryor’s mother pleaded for her oldest son to turn himself in to authorities.

According to the U.S. Marshals Philadelphia, it is believed Pryor may be operating a stolen Ford F-150 with Pennsylvania license plate number ZTS-0503.
