Throughout the U.S. on Monday, hundreds of events, small and large, honored the life and legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King during the annual MLK Day.
In Atlanta, hundreds of people marched during the annual MLK Day event, which ended in front of Ebenezer Baptist Church. The march was followed by a rally in front of the King Center.
In Los Angeles, spectators watched as performers danced in the streets and marching bands played to large crowds.
In Chicago, where the city was braving an exceptionally cold winter, many MLK Events events were held in doors. Many people attended the annual PUSH for Excellence Breakfast at the Apostolic Church of God, where Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was a guest speaker.
In Florida, the streets of Miami were taken over by hundreds of bike riders for a “Wheels Up, Guns Down” event in honor of MLK Day. According to CBS Miami, at least 150 people were arrested for disrupting traffic and other violations throughout the weekend into Monday.
