Tito Jackson, one of the members of the famous, chart-topping pop group The Jackson 5, has died at age 70.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being,” his sons TJ, Taj and Taryll Jackson said in a statement posted Sunday on Instagram.

Tito was born Oct. 15, 1953 in Gary, Indiana. He was the third of 10 children born to Joseph and Katherine. His siblings include global superstars Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson.

The Jackson 5 rose to fame after joining Berry Gordy’s Motown Records in the late 1960’s with his teen brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael, the youngest of the group. The group’s hit songs include “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There.”

The Jackson 5 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
