A white man in Orange County, New York is facing hate crime charges after he reportedly approached a Black pastor and his son in a vehicle and threatened them with a boxcutter while yelling racial slurs.

The incident happened over the weekend as the pastor was driving back to his church to close up when he was cut off by another vehicle. A man later got out of the vehicle and walked up to the driver side window with what appeared to be a knife. He threatened to stab the pastor as he hit on the window.

The man went on a racial tirade, yelling at the two while the pastor and his son stayed in their vehicle recording the incident on a cellphone. The man also falsely claimed that he was an off-duty state trooper.

The 60-year-old man was later arrested.
