Weekend shootings in Chicago leave 6 dead, 20 wounded

CHICAGO — Shootings throughout Chicago left six people dead and at least 20 more injured during the hottest summer weekend in the U.S. so far.

In one of the shootings on Saturday, three people were shot, including two women who were among a group of people targeted by gunfire on Chicago’s South Side, per the Associated Press.

A 16-year-old boy was among the six victims killed over the weekend.

The previous weekend in Chicago saw a reported 40 people shot.
