CHICAGO — During the second night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Tuesday, former First Lady Michelle Obama took the stage to rally support for Vice President Kamala Harris — and she didn’t leave without criticizing Trump’s racist rhetoric.
Obama warned that the Harris-Walz campaign “is going to be an uphill battle,” and she and her supporters should be prepared for racist and sexist attacks from the Trump campaign.
The former First Lady noted her own experience with Trump, telling the audience:
“His limited narrow view of the world made him feel threatened by the existence of two hard-working, high-educated successful people who happen to be Black. … I wanna know, who’s going to tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might be one of those Black jobs.”
