VIDEO: Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson delivers speech at event commemorating deadly 1963 church bombing

U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was the keynote speaker at an event commemorating the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, which killed four Black girls. Justice Jackson commented on her nomination to the Supreme Court and asked why it took “232 years and 150 prior appointments for a Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.”
