A new study released by the National Discrimination and Racism Monitor shows that racism remains embedded in German society, and that Black people and Muslim women in particular face the most discrimination in their everyday lives.
According to the study published in the German Center for Integration and Migration Research, over 60% of Black people and women said they are regularly subjected to discrimination. They also believe racism is becoming a social norm and more subtle in Germany.
The findings come from data pulled from surveys of 10,000 people across Germany who were asked about racism and discrimination.
The data also showed that people who experienced racism were often assumed to be immigrants, even if they were not.
