A new study published in the Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics has found a connection between right-leaning attitudes, such as voting restrictions and anti-immigration, and negative feelings white Americans maintain about minorities.

The study, “Beyond the Trump Presidency: The Racial Underpinnings of White Americans’ Anti-Democratic Beliefs,” was published on Feb. 3 by Cambridge University Press.

The study notes its the interconnection between racial attitudes and anti-democratic views; the racial resentment white Americans have towards minorities has remained about the same level in the U.S. for about a decade.
