Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) took to the Senate floor on Friday to celebrate the legacy of hip-hop, marking its 50th anniversary. In the clip below, Schumer called hip-hop a “great artistic creation in America,” and presented a resolution to honor the genre’s anniversary and declare August 11 Hip-hop Celebration Day.
