NEW YORK CITY – A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the rape of a 5-year-old girl, according to police.
Dominique Giles, 30, is facing multiple charges for an alleged sexual assault that happened Jan. 22 in Staten Island . Giles reportedly fled the scene on foot, according to the New York City Police Department.
Giles was arrested in Harlem on Wednesday. He is charged with rape, sexual abuse, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The victim was reportedly the daughter of the suspect’s girlfriend.
The victim’s mother allegedly witnessed the attack after walking in on the suspect, and was then assaulted when she tried to call 911.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
