Podcast: Is the media ignoring atrocities of war in Sudan?

United Nations officials revealed this week that up to 9,000 people have been killed in the ongoing Sudan war, and that’s not the only atrocity the Sudanese are living with.

Sudan is home to 45.5 million people (2021), and the war has displaced 4.5 million of them, and more than 1 million Sudanese have fled to neighboring countries in Africa.

The U.N. Secretary General said the people in Sudan are suffering from “horrific” humanitarian crises, including rapes and sexual assaults. Further complicating matters in the region is a recent outbreak of cholera, which is highly contagious. There have been 1,000 confirmed cases so far, and the official number could keep rising.
