NEW YORK CITY — A man in the Bronx says he was racially targeted by NYPD officers, who he accused of falsely arresting and assaulting him.

Jaylin Ryan, 21, told News 12 he double parked his vehicle on Dec. 28 near a fire hydrant outside of an apartment building in the Fordham Manor neighborhood when police surrounded his vehicle. The police demanded he give them his identification.

He said during the incident, one of the officers violently pushed him against the vehicle, handcuffed him and punched him in the face. Ryan also said he suffered a broken jaw.

Ryan told News 12 he has filed a complaint with the city Comptroller’s Office against the officers involved.
