ST. PAUL, MN — A federal civil rights complaint alleging discrimination against white students reportedly has led to the cancellation of a field trip intended for people who “identify as a student of color.”
The field trip, which was scheduled to happen this week at Highland Park Senior High School in St. Paul, was focused on showcasing careers in digital marketing and advertising, reported the Minnesota Star Tribune.
The non-profit organization sponsoring the field trip canceled after a complaint was filed alleging it violated Title VI of the federal Civil Rights Act and the St. Paul Public Schools district’s own anti-discrimination policy.
