CHICAGO — A man has been arrested after 15 people were wounded in a shooting, including two people who are in critical condition on Sunday, police said.
The suspect opened fire on a crowd around 1 a.m. at a Halloween party on the city’s West Side near North Lawndale, according to the Chicago Police Department.
A 26-year-old woman and 48-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to a local hospital where they were listed in critical condition.
Among the total victims were six women and nine men.
Police said the suspect fled after the shooting but was found near the scene and taken into custody.
Police said a handgun was also recovered.
The suspect’s identity was not released. No charges have been filed yet.
