NEW YORK CITY — Longtime MSNBC contributor and anchor Joy Reid is leaving the network and her evening show has been dropped.

Reid, who hosts her own show “The ReidOut,” also frequently appeared on additional MSNBC news shows.

Reports circulated over the weekend about Reid’s show being cancelled, and many fans expressed their anger online.

MSNBC has experienced a shakeup in its TV lineup since the network hired a new president. The network’s ratings took a major hit after the election and hasn’t yet bounced back.

Reid joins several other anchors whose shows resonated with Black viewers and have since been cancelled, including Melissa Harris-Perry in 2016 and Tiffany Cross’ “The Cross Connection in 2022.
