The Atlanta Police Department released bodycam video from an incident involving a former APD officer and a local deacon who died after being tased by the officer following a traffic accident in August.
The police body-worn camera video came from now-former APD Officer Kiran Kimbrough when he tased 62-year-old Hollman on Aug. 10, 2023. Hollman’s death was attributed to abnormal heart rhythm due to being tased, according to an autopsy report from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident began after Kimbrough responded to a traffic collision involving Hollman. In the video, the officer determined Hollman was at fault for the accident, which Hollman disagreed with. The officer ordered Hollman to sign a citation several times, which he refused. As Hollman agrees to sign the citation, Kimbrough then began to initiate an arrest.
