JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — More than four months after a racially-motivated mass shooting at a Dollar General in Jacksonville left three Black people dead, the store reopened on Friday.
The store’s appearance outside didn’t appear to have significantly changed after the attack on Aug. 26, 2023, but the inside was reportedly remodeled, including new wider aisles, more lighting and new floors.
Some members of the local community welcomed the re-opening, while others expressed concern about memories attached to the store after the deadly racist attack, WESH reported.
