WASHINGTON D.C. — The House of Representatives voted Thursday to censure Congressman Al Green for standing up and speaking out against President Donald Trump during his address to Congress.

Green was escorted out of the House chamber on Tuesday after Trump implied the Nov. 5. election was a “mandate” for the flurry of controversial changes to the federal government.

Fellow Democrats joined Rep. Green (D. Texas) in singing “We Shall Overcome” as Speaker Mike Johnson announced the censure. The resolution passed mostly along party lines with a vote of 224-198. Ten Democrats voted in favor of censuring Green.

“You have no mandate!” Green shouted.
