Georgetown basketball coach Tasha Butts dies at 41 after battle with breast cancer

Washington D.C. — Georgetown women’s basketball coach Tasha Butts died on Monday at the age of 41 after a two-year battle with breast cancer.

Butts joined Georgetown University in April. She was previously assistant head coach at Georgia Tech, following a long coaching career and experience with the WNBA career, reported The Associated Press.

In 2021, Butts announced she was diagnosed with advanced stage metastatic breast cancer.
