Four women drop lawsuit accusing former Indiana AG Curtis Hill of groping them

INDIANAPOLIS — A civil lawsuit accusing the former state attorney general of groping four women while he was allegedly intoxicated at a bar was reportedly dropped on Sunday just hours before jury selection was set to begin.

The four plaintiffs first filed a federal lawsuit in 2019 and filed another lawsuit in Marion County in 2020, accusing Curtis Hill of committing battery against them at an Indianapolis bar, and defamed them after repeatedly claiming the allegations made against him were false, the Associated Press reported.

According to the Indianapolis Star, the decision to drop the lawsuit culminates a nearly seven-year investigation that began after a party in March 2018 on the last night of the annual legislative session.

Hill, a Republican, was the state AG from 2017 to 2021. He also ran for governor of Indiana this year but came in last place in the Republican primary.

Last year, Hill also called for the elimination of the state’s DEI office. During his run for governor, he also promised to “abolish” DEI in the classroom. He also said opposed transgender students participating in sports.
