Dana Stubblefield, the former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle, spoke publicly for the first time on Wednesday after he was released from prison.

Per the Associated Press, Stubblefield, who had served more than four years in prison after a rape conviction in 2020, was released on Tuesday. The 54-year-old former NFL star’s release from prison comes after an appeals court vacated the conviction in December.
The appeals court overturned the conviction because prosecutors made racially discriminatory statements during Stubblefield’s trial, which were in violation of the California Racial Justice Act of 2020.

Stubblefield discussed his release from prison during a press conference with his attorneys on Wednesday.
