Drowning death of former President Obama’s personal chef ruled accident

EDGARTOWN, Mass. — The Massachusetts medical examiner has ruled the drowning death of former President Barack Obama’s personal chef Tafari Campbell an accident.

Campbell, 45, drowned on July 24 while paddle boarding in Edgartown Great Pond near the Obama family’s home near Martha’s Vineyard, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

According to a statement from the Obama’s, Campbell was employed by the Obama’s after working at the White House.

Campbell, of Dumfries, Virginia was visiting Martha’s Vineyard when the accident occurred. The Obamas were not present at the home at the time of the accident.

Campbell is survived by a wife and two children.
