NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police announced one of cast members who displayed a Palestinian flag with the words “GAZA” and “SUDAN” during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance will not face charges.

During the 2025 NFL Super Bowl half time show, which was watched by an average of 127.7 million viewers, one of the dozens of dancers who were covered in Black clothing held it high while standing on top of a vehicle used during the performance in an apparent sign of solidarity. The dancer then ran across the stage and into the field.

The dancer was eventually tackled by security crew members and detained by police.

NOPD made the announcement on Monday that no charges would be filed.

The crew member’s protest was not planned for the half time performance, the Associated Press reported.
