CHICAGO — The city experienced one of its deadliest weekends this year after multiple shootings across Chicago after 40 people were shot, including seven people who died, police said.
Chicago Police Department said at least 16 of the victims were teenagers. The youngest victim was a 14-year-old boy killed on Saturday who was reportedly preparing to start his first day of high school on Monday.
Last weekend, 24 people were reportedly shot, including three people who died.
Police have not announced any arrests yet in connection with the shootings.
