CINCINNATI — A neo-Nazi protest in a historically-Black neighborhood in Cincinnati received major pushback from Black residents on Friday and a call to action from community leaders.
The community banded together in the neighborhood of “Lincoln Heights” in solidarity against the symbols of hate displayed by the group wearing masks on Friday afternoon on the Interstate 75 overpass.
News of the demonstration spread quickly. Some residents reportedly chased down some of the neo-Nazi protestors, burning their Nazi flags and slashing the tires of the vehicle some of them tried to flee in on Friday.
Some neighbors even warned the neo-Nazi group not to return. One local man showed news station WKRC Local 12 bullets arranged in the letters “LH,” which stands for Lincoln Heights.
A prayer vigil was also held at the site of the counter demonstration on Sunday.
