Black man shot by Indiana police officer during traffic stop

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The mayor of Fort Wayne, Indiana spoke publicly to the media for the first time Monday since Linzell Parhm, a 22-year-old Black man, was shot and killed by a FWPD officer during a traffic stop.

In Monday’s statement to the media, Mayor Tucker said the body camera footage will be released to the public and to the media only after the family has viewed the footage themselves.

The mayor also added that it is important to come together as a community in support of the family, the city and the officers involved.

On Monday, the coroner released that Parhm’s death was ruled a homicide-police action shooting. It was determined that he died from multiple gunshot wounds.
