A Black judge in New York is reportedly accused of making homophobic and bigoted comments, per court court papers.

Brooklyn Surrogate’s Court Judge Harriet Thompson allegedly made comments such as Hispanic people have “deceitful traits” and homosexuality is an “abomination,” reported the New York Post.

According to court filings, the Inspector General for New York state courts “substantiated” the claims against Thompson who was suspended with pay afterwards, reported the New York Post.

The judge was reportedly also accused of criticizing the appearances of court workers and using racist, and anti-gay slurs.

Matthew Berman, Judge Thompson’s attorney, reportedly told The Post: “The judge denies all of the allegations that are asserted against her.”

More details about the allegations can be found here.
