A Black man who was serving his sentence at a Washington state jail is suing the Clark County Sheriff’s Office after a violent incident captured surveillance video showing him being dragged by a rope.

The lawsuit was filed last month in U.S. District Court in Tacoma, Washington, reported the Associated Press.

The incident happened in August 2021 and no deputies involved in the violent encounter have faced any charges.

One of the deputies involved was reportedly placed on administrative leave but returned to work. It was unclear what disciplinary action had been taken against the deputy by the sheriff’s office.
