Two teens seen on video brutally attacking an LGBTQ teen at a park in Florida have been arrested, authorities announced today.

Chad Sanford, 14, reportedly was attacked after he was invited to hang out with a group of people around his age who the teen thought were friends.

“They came behind me and jumped me,” Chad told WPLG Local 10. He said his alleged attackers said, “Don’t come around me with that gay (expletive).”

Chad was also attacked by older kids at a middle school last year in an incident that made national headlines, reported WPLG Local 10.

Broward County deputies arrested two teenagers seen on video in the attack. Authorities said the two teens will charged with battery and a crime of prejudice under Florida law. Both are misdemeanor charges in Florida.

It’s was unknown if a third person seen in the video will be charged.

If the two teens who were arrested are charged with a federal hate crime, they could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
