A Massachusetts police department accused of wrongful arrest is reportedly facing a lawsuit after a young Black man was handcuffed and detained when police were chasing a White suspect. Donovan Johnson alleged in a federal civil rights lawsuit that a White police officer in Arlington, a Boston suburb, grabbed him, threw him to the ground and pinned the young man there with a knee on his neck in February of last year, reported the Associated Press. About 100 members of a White supremacy group marched through the streets of Boston wearing masks, and injured a Black man they attacked. Police said the Black man injured was knocked to the ground and attacked by multiple White supremacists. He suffered multiple lacerations and was transported to a local hospital. The March happened on Saturday, drawing swift condemnation from Democratic and Republican elected officials in the state.
