Report: Plane crash that killed 20 people departing DRC caused by loose crocodile
An investigation into a plane crash that claimed the lives of at least 20 people after it departed the Democratic Republic of Congo 12 years ago was reportedly due to a crocodile that got loose on the plane.
According to Jeune Afrique, the plane crashed on Aug. 25, 2010 after most of the weight in the cabin shifted when frightened passengers tried to get away from the crocodile.
The crocodile was believed to have been smuggled on board the plane in a carry-on bag but got free.
One person survived the crash, as well as the crocodile, which was later killed by authorities.
