A Black state senator in Rhode Island stirred controversy last week after posting a video of herself twerking upside down in a bikini on a beach. Today, she said on Twitter her TikTok accounts were banned.
Her accounts were restored as of Tuesday evening.
Senator Tiara Mack has come under fire for posting the video to her TikTok account. Many people are calling for her to apologize and some are also calling for her to resign.
Mack, a 28-year-old Democrat who represents District 6 in Rhode Island, uploaded the video of herself on TikTok July 4. At the end of the clip, she says “Vote Senator Mack.”

Some users on TikTok praised her. Others, including elected officials on both sides of the political aisle, criticized Mack’s behavior.
Mack has not apologized for the video.
Maybe she forgot she is an elected official? Maybe she forgot her age?
Maybe voters will forget her come November.
